Dear Artists and Creatives,
We are delighted to announce an open call for applications for our art residency at MACAM. This is an excellent opportunity for artists to develop their work in a supportive and inspiring environment. We provide housing and a dedicated workspace to help you focus on your creative pursuits.
This residency is open to artists across a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to visual arts, performing arts, and literary arts.

ABOUT MACAM
Located in Alita (Jbeil), MACAM used to be a large factory compound and is nestled on a hilltop overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the picturesque Adonis Valley. The vast nature around the museum invites for various outdoor activities rebooting all the senses.
Dedicated to preserving and promoting art in Lebanon, MACAM is a truly one-of-a-kind museum dedicated sculpture and installations. The permanent exhibition Panorama of Sculpture in Lebanon presents a century of sculpting in Lebanon with over 400 sculptures and installations by renowned artists.
MACAM is a creative hub that holds art competitions, workshops for kids and adults, and temporary exhibitions. It also has an art residency program and a two-storey guesthouse with five equipped rooms and shared spaces.
Residency Overview
• Duration: 2 to 4 weeks, from mid-July to mid-September, 2024
• Location: MACAM, Alita, Jbeil
• Support Provided: Housing and workspace
• Stipends: Please note that this residency does not provide a stipend.

Eligibility
We welcome applications from literary, performance, and visual artists working in any medium, at any stage of their career, who reside in Lebanon.
Residents must be at least 21 years old.
What we offer
MACAM offers artists a serene setting to develop their practice and experiment with new ideas. Our residencies are designed to provide the time and space for artists to focus on their work without the usual distractions of daily life.
Housing: Comfortable accommodation in MACAM’s guesthouse close to the workspace. You will share one of the two apartments in the guesthouse with another resident (private room; shared kitchen/living room/dining room/bathroom).
Workspace: A dedicated studio space to create, explore, and refine your art.
Community: Opportunities to connect with other resident artists through informal gatherings, critique sessions, and potential public presentations or exhibitions.
